When installing backseat covers on a 4 door JL (I’m putting on Bartec), you have to unbolt the seatbelt. Can anyone tell me the exact tool I’d need to do this? (I’m extremely non-handy, and figured I’d at least be able to do seat covers by myself, but even this is proving difficult lol). I really want my cute seat covers on but don’t have anyone to help ?

This video should help. I think right around 5:20 they deal with the seatbelt.

A breaker bar and appropriate socket size will do it. You'll need a torque wrench and Loctite to put them back though I imagine.

It’s really very simple & these are tools that will be beneficial for many other projects down the road. No better time to start learning to work on your own vehicles than now. If my 12 year old can install Bartact seat covers, I have no doubt you can accomplish it successfully as well :like:

Hire it out? Sounds like a great opportunity for a wrenching party for some Florida Jeepers. Cost…a 12 pack and afternoon of stories and wheeling.

With what you would spend on labour, you could literally buy all the stuff required. Better yet, find a local Jeep Facebook group and post up on there and offer a pizza and some libations. There will literally be 8 jeeps parked on your street and helping very quickly.

Could you just bullet point a list of exactly what I need so I can read it off to someone at Home Depot :) appropriate socket and some other sizes are mentioned but I’m not sure what those sizes are. Pretend I’m 12 :)

Pick up one of these:
https://www.homedepot.com/p/Husky-Mechanics-Tool-Set-270-Piece-H270MTS/309161789

And one of these:
https://www.homedepot.com/p/Husky-2...s-3-8-in-Drive-Torque-Wrench-H3DTWA/205913996

That’ll give what you need for this job, and a lot of other jobs in the future.

Whats funny about this video, is that at the 6:01 mark he goes “get this thing off” and pulls off this metal washer thing with his fingers. Yea right. This thing is stuck to this bolt. I’ve gotten this far now I can’t get this damn washer off. Someone help ?

That is just a thin retainer that keeps those parts assembled. If it really has to come off, maybe snip it with sidecutters. Or twist it enough to break it with a needle nose pliers.
You are doing great, don't give up
