I installed my Rock Slide Engineering Step Sliders with the big light main cutoff switch that has four electrical prongs as described in the instructions. I hate the big red light and want to use the three-prong cutoff switch that also came in the kit but not described in the instructions. I called RSE and they said they haven't been able to get three-pronged switch to work but I've seen videos of others using it and obviously working. Can someone tell me the proper connections for this switch?

Checkout the gen 2 instructions. Looks like black (ground) goes to the bronze prong, and the other two don't matter.

Ah, your comment made me realize something. The Gen III steps that I have has an all new wiring harness. I bet that's why RSE told me that switch can't be used.

I'm sure it's a standard rocker switch. Looks like a DPST not using the fourth pole. The other is a SPST, should work the same if it's rated for the same amperage.

I tried but no workee. Judging from the pics in the Gen II instructions, the wiring is quite different. Not a big deal. I just put tinting decals on the button to dim the light. Thanks for your suggestions.

Black nail polish will get rid of the led, if the only issue is the light.
