Just got these installed, easy installation once you decipher the instructions, I enclosed a few pics of the brackets (these are shot on the passenger side looking from back to front). I also added a light strip on each side tapped into the passenger and driver side footwell hot lead (yellow w/ Violet trace). I am running some amber underglow lights so I had a ground on each side to T-tap into. These light strips only draw a measly .5watt per strip so no need for a relay. If you want to run higher wattage lights or want to isolate the circuit @TTEChris has an awesome write up for doing just that https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/fo...step-lights-with-door-open-illumination.8744/
To be honest the hardest part of the installation was trying to contort myself to get into that passenger footwell to strip away the tape and get that quick splice connector (18 to 22 gauge) in there
Easy to fish that wire in the back of the footwell over to the driver's side, then you can run both hot wires through that large plug in the firewall (just to the lower right of the brake booster when looking from the front of the motor).
Tapping into the footwell lights allows you to have illumination when you hit your fob to unlock the vehicle & when you open the door. They will fade off after about 30 seconds, I found these .5 watt strips provide just the right amount of light for easy step location but not too bright.
Impressed w/ the overall quality, fit & finish of these steps. The rails cover the pinch seam area better than many on the market. The ends are capped so no worry about dirt getting in there and creating places for rust to take hold. The steps are a nice width, with good grip points, and the angled taper (away from the rails) should help if you happen to get in a tough spot. The steps are well supported and the brackets are a 1/4" thick w/ large fasteners and the rails are well supported throughout, very solid feel when stepping on these!. There is a bit of adjustment to go in or out about a 1/2" and large mount plates that would allow you to slide the steps forward or back a few inches (not sure why they went with that much adjustment there, lol). These were $249 w/ free ship direct from Rough Country store and they were very well packaged and 3 day shipping. And the link for the strip lights.
