A short time ago, I saw online a bracket to hold a Rotopax can that mounted to spare holes on the Mopar Gate Reinforcing bracket.
I cannot find that anywhere now.
Do you know of this part and where it can be purchased?
thanks!

Holy crap, that's an expensive bracket!
I didn’t end up getting one because Im switching to a Motobilt tire carrier, but I strongly considered it initially. Some folks here whose opinion I value recommend them though.

Yes. Another example of get-me-out-of-poverty pricing.

If you're handy, or know someone who is, fabricating a simple carrier plate that uses the same three holes as the spare tire is a recommended solution. Separate holes are drilled for the Rotopax mount. This solution doesn't depend on a tailgate reinforcement accessory, either.

Just a suggestion.

Thanks. I could probably hack something up with a band saw or angle grinder and cutting disk. What are the bolts attaching too?

Ah, I forgot to mention that detail. I'm using three double-female M14x1.5 lug nuts: One side for the captive studs on the spare tire carrier, and the other side for the plate's retention bolts.

I really cheap out as there are so few times I need extra gas that I went this route when I did the Dusy ershim and the Rubicon and ultimately never needed any extra fuel but figured better safe than sorry.

They seem to have hiked their prices a decent amount but it the best option. I could get away with a 2-gallon. Will grab one when I see the o line stores having a sale. Maybe Black Friday.

Im not sure Im comfortable with the Fuelpax 3.5gal sitting sideways. I wonder if the design could be turned 90 degrees and fit a can upright to still not cover the backup camera. Even on either side of the spare.

I went with the Drago mount: https://www.jlwranglerforums.com/fo...k-rax-my-nightmare.131957/page-2#post-2765217

It is expensive, but I am not a metalworker, and there are not a lot of good choices for rear mounts. Some are not well designed and do not allow full door opening with the gas can installed, several did not fit with the Mopar tailgate reinforcement, one or two just felt/looked "cheap" with light metal and poor construction quality (bad welds and such). I didn't really want to block the rear camera so that ruled out some of them. I debated about the over the tire carriers, but ultimately decided the Drago mount would work best for me. I did hesitate over the price, but was happy after I bit the bullet and got it on.
