i try and run my Ko2 and my km2 tires at 30 cold psi ( avg temp cold its like 50 degrees F) on all my trucks and the jeep. i get better wear on the tread and a better ride.

Yeah those tire manufacturers put a high tire pressure on the door so that people will run it a lot lower or higher so they wear out sooner and they can sell more tires. It's a conspiracy between Goodyear, Goodrich, and Michelin.

Did you ever own a TJ? I always felt like I was getting the crap beat out of me in mine (stock). Fun as hell, but definitely not for long road trips. I personally find the JL quite smooth.

I've taken several trips in my JK where I drove 24 hours straight. No discomfort at all. But I came from the factory with extra padding.

Yeah the JK is pretty comfy too. That's our "main" Jeep because it's a 4 door. My 2 door JL is just our second vehicle and my topless one. And I came with extra padding too. So maybe that's why they are comfy

wow you guys are running low tire pressures. i dropped mine to 36 (from 40) in order to keep the warning light off. didnt know 30 would be ok. ill give that a try. i wouldnt mind a little nicer ride. i just didnt want to ruin the tires running around underinflated. been there done that.

ive also heard that running a catch can would help with ride quality as well. all that blow by oil has to be making a difference, somehow.

I lowered the pressure yesterday and I think it made a difference last night. I still have to drop it a little more because my cheap pressure gauge was showing 30PSI and the jeep console was showing 35. I'll grab a new one and check again.

No that's the only Wrangler I didn't have. But I did have a YJ, and a 4 hour trip in one of those would send you to the hospital. First comment I made to my wife when I got the JL is that it brought back memories of the YJ. Not as bad as the YJ, but same type of ride.

So let me lead by saying that I understand that a Wrangler is not a luxury vehicle.

So we rented a Sport S for a few days to see if it fit us. We loved it and how great it drove. I ended up buying a Sahara thinking that it would be an even better ride. I didn't notice issues during the test drive (I'm guessing the roads were just in better condition in the city.) Once I actually took it for a long drive, I realized that I'm feeling every bump in the road. My Sahara does have the anti-spin differential, so it has the all terrain tires. Is it because of the tires that I'm feeling the road so much?

It's almost always the tire pressure. Or it could be you're just not used to the ride of a Wrangler. In my opinion it's relative good but stiff compared to most SUV's. Remember it's a Jeep Wrangler. Not a Cherokee. We have both and the Cherokee has a really nice ride.

I have a 2 door sport. I recently put on the 33” BF Goodrich ko2’s. I tested many different psi levels and my opinion is that 33psi cold felt the best to me. When I hit the highway and they warm up it gets up to about 35/36psi. Anything higher than that seems to not drive very well for me. Much harder to stay in the lane. I hope this helps somebody because I did a lot of research on this forum and opinions seem to be all over the place. 26psi-40psi. Of course depends on 2dr vs 4dr, driving habits, roads etc. I also understand that new tires need about 500 miles to break in so I’ll check back then if anything changes.
