Reverse whine

JLU Sport S with 8-speed auto here. Anyone else hear a subtle 'whine' when going in reverse? I know that some cars do it because of how the gears in the transmission are, especially manual transmissions (I remember an old Honda Civic I used to own had this characteristic).

I believe that it is the ZF transmission normal reverse sound, it also does it on my 2016 and 2017 Ram 1500 work trucks with the Pentastar and ZF auto trans.

My immediate thought when I saw "reverse whine" was, "so, polite conversation????"

I don’t think there is a production vehicle that doesn’t have that noise to varying degrees of use....
