My 2018 JLUR has had a transmission whine when going down a grade in 3rd and 4th gear then stops when it shifts into 5th. It has had this issue since day one and I thought it was just the characteristics of the new 8 speed. Anyone else having this issue?

Hi tfinnell,

Please let us know via private message if you decide to address this with your local Jeep dealer. We'd be happy to have this concern formally documented and connect you with a case specialist for an additional layer of assistance while your Wrangler is at the dealer.

Mine does the same thing. I was going to ask if this is normal. I am bringing my rig in for service and I am going to address this with the dealer. I have just over 20k miles. Have you spoken with your dealer? If so, what was their diagnosis if any. Thanks!

I took it to my dealer and, of course, they said they could not duplicate the noise. I am taking it to a different dealer when the steering stabilizer part comes in and try again. I thought the noise might be normal until I got a '20 Gladiator with the same tranny with no noise. Good luck.

Hi Mark,
My local dealer checked my Jeep for two days and determined the noise, they heard, is normal for these vehicles. We even test drove a new '19 and it did not have the noise I am experiencing. I have had it to two dealerships with no results. My recent visit also addressed the V41 recall, which was installed backwards and will have to go back again. Any suggestions will be welcomed, Thanks.
