I'm curious to see what they do with the dash on future special editions. Maybe a 75th Anniversary type bronze dash? Or a Recon type with a topo map? A Freedom or Willys type with Olive Drab or a 1941 theme?

Could be great, could be hideous. Time will tell.

It should be body color.

I hope it's removal because I would love to have a jeweled aluminum dash.

I think the red dash is fine IF you get it with certain color combinations. But if you go outside those complimentary colors, it looks terrible in my opinion.

Someone else noticed that the Rubi Punk'n Metallic only shows available with heritage tan interior. Could this be due to the red dash of the black interior? Jeep doesn't want to install a red dash on an orange body? It also forces a leather upgrade? Please say it ain't so.

Yup. Orange is out for me. Not down with tan interior.

Does anyone have detailed specifics on how to remove and replace the red dash panels?
This way we could paint them our jeeps body color, like the ole CJ's.

Not yet (that I have seen). I think you'll have to wait until people get their JLs. Someone will post a how-to. It can't be that hard.
