I know that there have been several discussions on water leaks coming from the top of the rear glass but I can't seem to find any with solutions. I've cleaned the gasket and used silicone lubricant. I don't want to take it back for a two week long warranty repair. I'm considering adding another opposing gasket and using a rain gutter like Auzito sells. Can someone point me to a fix thread that I missed? Has anyone else had this problem and found a fix?

EDIT: I took a flashlight out to see if I could see light coming through. I found two areas. Both had small pieces of plastic laying on the gasket. I think they came from the backing on the adhesive from my dash camera install. I'm burning my aerospace engineering diploma as I type. :CWL:

Take a pic from inside looking out the back window that shows the water coming in if you can.

Can't see.. no pics, etc. so hard to give you ideas in regard to why your JL has this issue or how to remedy.

Can tell you though.. the AZUTO Rear Window Trench Hood is a very nice product offering. I and other's have installed it we all really like/appreciate it.

AZUTO offers some really terrific adds for the JL. Blinker Handle Extension, Map Light, Tailgate Window pull and more...

I have personally met the Japanese owner of the parent company and his team. (Nice guys!) They gifted me each of their product offerings and only one have I found to be problematic/ died prematurely and had to be uninstalled after months of use. AZUTO is aware and is re-doing the offering.. the "LED Tailgate Lamp" .

Is it a water leak from normal rainfall as opposed to water being sprayed while being washed?

I get water leaks from a drive through car wash (horrible I know) or heavy rain and tried the Azuto product. It seemed like diverted water from the middle of the window to the edges and still allowed water inside. It’s great for not having water dumped on you when you if you lift the rear glass and lean in to get something out of the back.

I ended up putting wig wag lights on the rear hinges that required running wires between the rear glass and the seal which increased the leaks and I removed the Azuto product and gave it away. That’s no reflection on the Azuto product itself.

I think I would start with an additional seal and go from there.

My Jeep leaks from somewhere near the driver side rear portion of the freedom panel, and I don't know where the leak is, but only if it's a torrential downpour or if I'm going on a steep decline where the water rushes forward will I ever feel a drip.

That being said my back window hasn't been an official back window with a proper seal since I traded for this hardtop of mine. That being said I've been running without the drain plug in the jack area since I put this hardtop on, and for a bit before that. If you just pull out that plug and the plastic piece beneath it, all of your drainage issues will go away. I guess it helps if you don't have carpet back there too but 🤷‍♂️

Thanks, I'll have those up in a bit.

I found the problem when I went to take the pictures.

I remember when you posted this pic. I LOVE Auzto! I had the map lights in my JKs and they were perfect. I also use the rear window wire covers in all my Jeeps. I really hope they introduce more Jeep products. I would love to see more interior lighting products. I do think that their hands are tied by the cost to produce their level of quality compared to the flooding of the market with poor quality products. I ordered the Auzto Rear Window Trench Hood just to stop the water intrusion when I have the rear window up.

Yep, that's the first step. I've got some automotive weather stripping that I'll attach to the glass and have it rest on top of the OEM seal.

It's a rain leak but it goes apeshit in the carwash (I go through carwashes too, don't use Amsol, and have the dealership change my oil! Time to ban me from the forum! 😂). I'm going to see how the Azuto rain trench fits with the new gasket. I think moving the water to the edge will stop the problem. The intrusion is in the center of the top gasket.

Like @Tredsdert mentioned, check your storage cubby for the jack. I had water pooling there and enough trail dust that the drain plug was clogged with silt.

What was the cause and the fix?
Two pieces of plastic from the rear dash cam had gotten stuck to the gasket. I took a flashlight and found the gaps. The plastic was black and just blended in. :CWL:

Speaking of flashlights... Made me think of the @Diode Dynamics , Diode Dynamics 800 Lumen Flashlight flashlight I have...

Talk about friggin crazy bright and the rechargeable battery in it lasts and lasts.

Offers High, medium, low and strobe modes. Great flashlight to have out on the trail, in the JL for when....

Price point for this flashlight is very good.

I've had many a flashlight over the last 70+ years and this one is the pick of the litter...

I've dropped this one in water, dropped from high up on to concrete and it still is as new..

It's build like a tank... but it's size is compact..

I've had mine for over 2 yrs...

"Hello, my name is Kevin and I'm addicted to Jeep parts and flashlights." 😂 I don't know what it is but I love finding a good flashlight. I would bet that I have a dozen in the house and the vehicles. So, here's the odd part... I have a whole house generator and I'm in an area where the electricity is very reliable. I need help. Is there a support group? While I'm waiting to find out, I'm gonna slide over to the DD site and take a look. :CWL:

Here's my suggestion for an add to the larger flashlights. I don't like to carry stuff in my pockets but I haven't noticed this little light. I bought several of these as stocking stuffers.
