I have been searching through the forum and I don’t see a post regarding adding USB ports to the overhead speaker pod.

Will be adding a Vector Offroad “E-Trac” in the not so distance future and I am not a fan of having the USB cords running from the center console to the overhead.

Had anyone done this? More interested as to a possible plug and plug wiring harness for access to power. Several other areas in the JL aftermarket realm has a solution.

Before I start clipping wires, I thought I would ask. I have two boys that while on out various road trips, the Highway path to get to the trail head is several hours and this would allow them to watch videos or whatever 8 years olds watch on iPhones. While having an overhead charging port.

There is a post regarding adding USB ports to the upper dash tray.

You would do the same thing except you would have more wire running to do. I think you can find enough room in the sound bar for the USB plug, it's not all metal under there. The wire can run under the plastic trim along the front passenger roll bar and down the A pillar, to the interior Aux wire bundle if you have it. Otherwise you can feed off the 12v plug in the center of the dash.

Bump this back up. Ever come up with a solution you care to share? Looking to do the same thing.

You've got plenty of options. There are generic 12v USB connectors (like the ones that Blue Sea offers) that simply use a power and ground connector for powering/charging your given device. It really comes down to how much effort you want to put in, and what sort of space constraints you have.
