Rear Camera Question - General Knowledge

I'll be up front, this is not a Wrangler issue, but hoping the collective knowledge of this group can assist. My wife just purchased a BMW 330i sedan, and had her first dent in the trunk area near the rear camera. The angle of the camera is tilted a bit, and I was wondering if this fact could be impacting the guidance lines that normally appear to assist with parking. The lines are no longer present, although that setting is engaged. Would the angle of the camera be keeping the guidance lines from appearing?

Again, please feel free to disregard as this is not a Jeep issue. I have not yet joined the BMW forum, but plan to.
