I just learned if purchase a jeep with the OEM winch, it comes with a slightly different bumper (see image below), in that safety laws require the bumper guards to stuck out much further.

Has anyone had the OEM Warn winch installed after purchase at a dealer and if so , did the dealer install the extended bumper guards?

Thank you,
Lynn

I don't believe you can order the exact same OEM winch from Jeep. They have a different "Mopar Winch" they sell... if you must have the OEM Winch, just order it like this and swap out the guards like this guy did:

Thank you for the fast response! I already have the jeep so I can order with it. Thank you for the info - I did not know the Mopar winch was different. I need to research that. I was already a little concerned because I read the OEM Zeon Winch was made especially for Jeep and was not the same as if you bought it from Warn.

The winch that comes from the factory is not the same as a Warn Zeon you purchase from an aftermarket supplier.

The winch that comes from the factory is rated for 8K pounds and is based on the Warn Zeon you can buy direct from Warn or any aftermarket supplier.

If you didn’t get the factory winch, you don’t have the extended crush cans on your bumper and adding a winch certainly won’t require you to add them.

Buy the winch you want and enjoy the heck out of your Jeep.
