Hi
I have 18 JL Rubicon, I recently bought some aftermarket proximity door unlock system (not mopar)
I installed antennas and wired them and now i'm trying to connect module to 12V constant and door lock/unlock wire.
12v is easy and no problem with that.
I don't have harness so reading all posts about retrofit from mopar does not help me too much.
I have diagrams and i understand it but as someone did this before maybe i can do this easier.
Basically i need to connect one wire to lock/unlock system.
i know where to find them at each door but i'm trying to connect my wire to wire before the splitter to driver and passenger doors.
And i don't want to run wires to fuse box so...
Which wires and where would be the best?.
help

Why would you not just buy the OEM Mopar one? It's one of the easier things to add to a JL with the addition of a Tazer or JScan.

However I will be nice and answer your question.
I just hope you don't go around forum and question people that need help or advice with one thing, with:
"why didn't you bought something else, you wouldn't have this problem..."
As obviously that doesn't help them or anyone reading this later.
Or you are just bored and you wanted to post something...

Why didn't I bought Mopar?

- way cheaper (half of Mopar)
- available in 5 days
- I don't need to disassemble anything on the vehicle to put this in
- i don't need to reprogram vehicle after
- I can take it of in 20 minutes and use it on any other vehicle later
- I can setup the module to do other things when I'm opening the door
- because I want to
- bla bla bla

I hope that this satisfy you why I don't have Mopar one.
If not let me know and I will return this and buy other one...?

I'll play...

It can't be that easy if you are asking how to install it...especially for power/ground and lock/unlock.
Cheaper may not mean more cost effective.
Less expensive may not be as reliable.
Doesn't look OEM.
Modules that need additional parts removed/areas disassembled to hide.
Enjoy your fun time.

I installed the OEM kit from Benny @AllMoparParts.com in about an hour and a half (granted I used to be car audio installer so its in my wheelhouse. But you do you and your snarky response.

lol...
i did not ask how to install it!!!
i just need to know best location to connect lock/unlock wires from people that did that...
not necessarily mopar proximity kit...alarm, keyless entry...
there is no problem with reliability, no one will even see the thing so OEM or not whatever...
like i said i have my reasons why i didn't buy mopar and i dont se why you have problem with that.
my money, my car.........
if i want factory prox unlock i would buy it then and.
i dont think it is bad in the end or anything like that... i just don't want that...

you obviously don't understand how forum works and when someone ask for advice what kinda answer is helpful.

maybe to explain you better what you are doing if you cant understand my original question.

-forum guy'1;
hey guys, i want to paint my wheels black, what kinda primer do you use for wheels?
- forum guy 2:
why dont you just buy factory black wheels...it takes less time to install them and you dont need to paint them.

So do you think that forum guy 1 is now happy and this helped him a lot?
You think he is probably stupid and didn't consider buying factory black wheels?
