So, my JLUR 2018 started having issues with the proximity door handles. About a month ago, the driver side stopped working (locking and unlocking) while the passenger and tailgate still worked fine. About 2 weeks ago, I tried to look into the issue, I made sure the option was on in uconnect and on my tazer, even though I never removed the doors, I made sure the connector was well seated and there were no bent pins.
Afterwards, I removed the driver's side door handle to inspect the connector, and everything seemed fine. I then tried to take the passenger door handle and install it on the driver side to see if it was the handle or something further along... and that didn't work. The most puzzling thing is when I reinstalled the passenger door handle, now that one isn't working either! I only have the tailgate handle working now.
Remote has a fresh battery and locks/unlocks the jeep fine. I just miss the convenience of not having to take it out of my pockets.
Does anyone else have this issue? Or any idea of where to look at? I tried testing for continuity on the door handle while pressing the unlock button but that doesn't work... maybe it's not a simple on/off switch? I was going to test for continuity from the door handle connector to the door connector inside but besides that, I'm out of ideas. If all else fails, I'll bring it to the dealer.
