I must be the only one on here that got taken to the cleaners. I wish that I had joined this forum before placing my order. I checked two local dealerships and both were full MSRP for a custom order and zero negotiation. I put down $2500.00 deposit and have already been waiting for 14 weeks. Jeep should be delivered in the next two weeks. With everyone posting large percentage below invoice, it almost makes me want to walk even is I lose my deposit. I hate to start the process over but I feel like I overpaid by about 6,000.00.
I have been looking for a JLUR since the beginning of the year and did not have much luck. I looked at the recommended dealers list and found a few in Texas. Unfortunately, I didn't get any responses back regarding the ordering of a new Jeep.
Fast forward to last week on Friday, I stopped by my local dealership since they had a jeep on the lot with the color I want at a decent price. I showed up at the dealership, and the salesman told me that they have to tac on a $10k "Market Adjustment" fee or have to pay $4,999 for paint plan protection on top of the full MSRP price.
This would have been helpful to know upon driving 35 miles after work. I asked the dealer if they could order a Jeep for me. They gave me an ugly response and said they are still going to charge me a market adjustment fee regardless of whether I purchase the Jeep on the lot now or order one later. Therefore, I walked out, jumped online to re-visit this forum, and placed an order with Renee at Gupton Motors. I got 5% under invoice with my own financing or 6% with their financing.
