I grabbed this ppe trans pan right before it was time to do a trans drain and fill…I figured anything to keep this jeep running at normal temp range in this desert heat nonsense the better…plus it has increased fluid capacity, fins for air flow and is made of aluminum instead of that bull 💩 steel pan for better heat dissipation….i was sold when I found out they had stuff for wranglers. I’ve used ppe on my Cummins and duramax builds in the past and have ZERO complaints on their products

I upgraded my pan to a PPE one as well. Worth the money and very happy with the quality, not mention it also has a drain plug. It was a bit of a pain to install though but worth it.

Does that exhaust pipe have to come off to remove the trans pan?
No it doesn’t come completely off….that cross member comes off…and the exhaust gets unsecured from passenger flange(to allow room to clear the ppe pan)….just make sure you have spare bolts and nuts in the event the oem pieces of 💩 snap in half

At least it was a nut and bolt and not a welded on nut or a stud!! Have had a few of those over the years, makes for a long job.

I love the concept of the PPE pan and I actually just put one in my 2015 F150 with a 6R80(ZF designed). However, my issue on the 8HP is that they require a custom filter. I don’t like the idea of having only 1 source of the filter (PPE) , wish it would still use the OEM filter.

Yeah I can see having concerns about that…but after leaving their building in Nevada I no longer have those concerns

Could always buy a couple filters at time of purchase and put them on the shelf for later.
