Sadly, I had to put my chocolate lab down last week and plan on getting a new dog in the next couple months. I'm trying to come up with some creative names and am looking for any suggestions you might have...

Sorry to hear that - I know how much that sucks - lost our dog of 10 years a few years back.

I’ll go with some Jeep related ones: Rocky, Dusty, Bumper, CJ, Rubi, Dana, Crawler, Spotter, Axle, Rebound, wrangler

Very sorry for your loss. A dog is a good friend companion always. My Golden has a condition called SAS. Means he have a short life. You getting another lab?
Maybe Kona. Camper river hunter. I had a golden years ago. Sundance. And a female Rainbow. Sage tumbleweed I like names that have to do with our doors. My Bernese is Sierra like the mtn. Granite. Maybe Kenai Good luck let us know who picks you and what kind he or she is?

Thanks to both of you...14 years was a long time and I was lucky to have her that long. I will be getting another lab...I am leaning towards a yellow or fox red (I know this is just a dark yellow)....I appreciate the name suggestions; my new JL should be here shortly and my next goal is to find a new pooch

Oh no! I’m so sorry! This is the absolute worst part of having our fur babies. :(

I think it will depend on the type of dog. I have three dogs and even with their given names, I call them nicknames. So, Hendrix is Bendo, Hendo, and sometimes Hendi. He always knows when I’m calling him :cwl:. Rocco is Bobo or Bubaw...he too knows when I’m calling him. Phantom is just Phantom :cwl:.

You’re not the only one! Our Golden, Oscar, has a revolving door of nicknames. I don’t know why, but inevitably someone in the house, usually my wife, will call him by some new nickname and then it sticks for a bit. Most recently: Woofles, Bubba, Bub, Bubbadooba, Stinky Boy, Fuzzy, Floofer, Dumb-Dumb.... he wags and responds to anything, so long as the intonation is right.

Heh. Dog people, amiright?

Hey maybe we're not so weird after all! We have 3 dogs, but the one in my avi is Zeke, also known as Boo Bear, Ooby Bear, Oobs, Master Oobway, Sweet Boy, Handsome and occasionally Shut the F&*! Up!
