What kind of pillar lights are folks using for getting better illumination out to the sides? I'm thinking about the 'critter avoidance' use-case....but can't wrap my head around what would be more useful (spots or floods).

Thanks!

Unfortunately, I don't have an answer because I'm trying to figure out the same thing. I am more concerned about lighting up the sides of the trail than on road side lighting, though.

I have a set of KC Pro 6 Gravity LEDs on the front bumper with a driving pattern, so I've got decent down trail lighting. I've been looking at the KC C3's which come in spot and flood also. I'd like to keep the pillar lights as small as possible.

I have @BajaDesigns Squadron Pro Amber Driving Combo mounted on the cowls. They're absolutely awesome for critter avoidance. The Driving Combo is half spot light and half flood light patterns.

I like that they're small and not obnoxious / view obstructing when mounted high. And they're stupid bright.

I’ve got the Squadron Sport driving combo clear, and yes, they are awesomely bright and I can spot the critters way out in the fields. I used security torx and Allen head fasteners on all the mounting hardware, even the ones going down into the cowl mount holes to slow down the theft of them.

I used the BD mounts. I like them because they're not very noticeable.

Jeep JL/JT (18-On), A-Pillar Mount Kit
SKU: 447001

You'll also need the splitter so you can connect them under the windshield wiper motor housing:
Squadron/S2 Wire Harness Splitter 55" Universal
SKU: 613606

If you want to wire them to the Jeeps AUX switches, I highly recommend using the upfitter cable:. Makes the connection SO easy.

haha those are bright AF! ? I was trying to decide on clear or yellow. I’ve looked at the BD SP, but have also been eyeing the KC FE4.

@BUSHRVN how are the clear lenses? Do you have any pics?

Here’s a video clip with turning them on and off.

We have a great solution coming soon in the form of a set of side-mirrors with integrated light bars. We've offered these for the JK's and other trucks for awhile & are now carrying them over to the JL/JT.

We'll post a more detailed thread about these soon!

Here’s another one. Stock LED lows, highs, then LP4 pros on the bumper with fogs, then ditch lights.
LP4 pros are clear driving combos as well.
