Hey everyone, I’m looking to add a set of ditch lights to my Jeep and would love some recommendations. This will be my only lighting upgrade, so I want something that’s effective without being too expensive. Right now, I’m deciding between the BD Squadron Sports, BD Squadron Pros, Diode Dynamics SS3 Max, and KC Hilites Flex Era 3s.

If anyone has experience with these, I’d appreciate your input. Also, what mounting brackets are you using, and will I need any additional harnesses to wire them into the factory aux switches? Thanks in advance!

I had BD Squadron pros on my last rig and they did the job fine. The mount I used was the mopar ones which were really strong. Zero rattle even on washboard trails at night. Nothing like a rattling light, makes it like a strobe light about to send you into a seizure. I did try some cheaper options which did not work.

Current rig went with xl80 pros, if you're on a budget, these aren't the lights for you but damn they work so well, just a bit bulky for what I really like for ditch lights. I liked the visual side for the LP4 but I didn't need the side splash, and the XL80 pro output is awesome. This time around, I went with AAL ditch light mounts, just realized mopar does sell the same mount as on my JLURD but a raised one for the 392/mojave.

I dont have a suggestion on the light but those 7 Sparta brackets are fantastic my harbor freight ones are on them and they are low and wide and dont block any vision.

I have the Baja Designs Squadron Pro lights, with combo spot/wide lenses, in my JL for the past 5-6 years. I've had Baja Design S2 Pro wide and spots on my pickup for over 10 years. Both are equivalent and both are excellent.

Do you want ditch light or cowl mounted forward lighting.

I run KC C3 Cubes in flood (90 degree spread) pointed out 45 degrees. That makes them completely miss the hood of the Jeep and they start lighting perpendicular to the windshield.

Not on my JL, but on my old KJ liberty I had a pair of cheap Auxbeam 3" side shooters mounted in place of factory fogs that did a great job lighting up the side of the road and straight in front. They actually saved me a couple of times from hitting a deer that I managed to see before he decided to jump right in front of me.

I run KC FLEX ERA 4 —Baja Designs are just as good, run BD on rear bumper

I've been getting the itch for some lighting upgrades recently and the Diode Dynamics lights look real nice. Their Factory Tour video on their website sold me on their products. Just gotta put together exactly what I am looking for.
