Pedal assembly removal help?

I’m trying to remove the pedal assembly to put in a new clutch position sensor. All was going well till now trying to unattach the brake pedal for the master cylinder rod. But this one has some weird situation going on with it not just a fancy lock clip like usual. Can someone please help me how do I got this part off!?

I haven't done it but the service manual says:

Remove and DISCARD the brake booster push rod
locking tab (3) by disengaging the two tangs from the
brake booster push rod clip.

Pull rearward both brake booster push rod retainer tabs
and pull up the brake pedal to disengage the both brake
booster push rod retainer from the brake pedal.

Slide the brake booster push rod retainer up then
remove the brake booster push rod retainer from the
brake booster push rod and DISCARD the brake booster
push rod retainer.

I was able to get the lock out and was trying using those tabs but wouldn’t budge at all but I’ll try again tomorrow maybe with a pry bar to get some leverage on it thank you
