Just got my Jeep 2018 2 door
Paid cash with 32000 miles on it
I got it for a good deal but now I am wondering what I have to do to fix the horrible bubbling on the door

the Jeep is in immaculate condition
But the only thing is the hinge paint is bubbled up really bad

Good looking Jeep. Take it to your dealer and file the claim.

Yikes! That's among the worst hinges I've seen.

Thanks do you know if this happens to all jeeps or just some of them ?
Most JL I’ve seen around LA don’t have them yet

If you have a Jeep, you either have it or are going to have it.

I have a couple minor spots on my 2018. Been there a couple years I think.

Mine’s doing the same, though not nearly as bad. One of these days I’ll take it to the dealer to get it taken care of.

did your jeep possibly originate from back east? or perhaps someone who lived by the ocean. i have a 2018 with zero paint issues. (knock on wood). and mine sits outside and gets washed a few times a year lol.

My 2020 was bought originally in Nevada, first owner was in Valley Center and I’m in San Marcos. Just dropped it off to get fixed. Hood, doors and tailgate.
maybe certain build dates are affected? thats weird. of all my buddy's with JLs ive never heard anyone complain about paint issues of any kind. hopefully they fix it for OP

I own a 2019 Wrangler and it needs the entire truck repainted. Jeep has what they call a "soft" recall on all JL models. When they switched production they used Carbon steel press dies to form the aluminum body panels causing carbon contamination in the aluminum which gradually reacts over time causing the bubbling of the paint. Really burnt my but that the dealer knew about it and never said a word! Now its like a 90 day wait to get it in because of the huge amount of jeeps that need the repaint. Not to mention back ordered parts like the door hinges.

So my advice is if anyone owns these jeeps to take it into your dealer ASAP and make a corrosion claim under warranty.

Hello Kelly. How do I go about getting my dealer to recognize what you're calling a 'Soft' recall? Mine is a 2020 with bubbling growing all the time.

Just take it to your dealer and ask them to file a warranty claim. Don't use the term soft recall because that generally refers to an issue that can be remedied without any owner involvement (ie over the air software update). It's 100% up to you to get a claim filed.
