There‘s a service bulletin about a batch of defective hood insulation pads that would spontaneously explode. If you call @JeepCares they will get a new one sent to your local dealer and get in installed all at no cost to you.

Where did it come from? It was there when you bought it, just intact.
What can possibly cause this? Any amount of Taco Bell, but probably an excessive amount.

Saw that on used 18 I test drove and said I want to buy. Opened hood after drive, bam, there it is. 10 minutes later new hood lining new battery blanket. bad news, I did not see the damage done to firewall which in 18 was soft material not the aluminum stuff today.

I am sure it’s just an odd coincidence that the engine compartment smells like piss and there are chocolate donut sprinkles scattered around. Which makes this an even bigger mystery. Probably time to get the Scooby Doo Gang on the case
