Hey Everyone,

We've had out JLURD for about 5 years now. It's not driven much. I maintain the oil and filter as recommended. (Typically less than 1,000 miles per year, so oil and filter changed annually.)

In the past I have purchased the Mopar oil filter through Amazon. I was going to order this morning.

Sticker shock... from the same vendor as last year is $74. I thought it was high last year at <$50.

I see lots of other options available. Just wondering how much of a risk I'm taking going with something other than Mopar.

Appreciate any input.

Thanks,

Jeff

Hey Blckdog,

Thanks for the advice.

We have a 1971 Bronco that we also don't drive often. I've used Amsoil in the power steering and Atlas T/C for over 10 years. I used to buy it through a friend who passed away several years ago. I haven't purchased any replacement fluids since he passed.

I know there are pretty strong opinions about Amsoil... I've always been happy with their products.

Thanks again.

Take Care,

Jeff

Well, most Mopar filters are Purolator, followed by Champion Labs then Wix. But meet Mopar specs. Anyway, Dad used Wix in his commercial garage.

edit, wise man kept the 71 Bronco, had a 69. Damn they are worth good $ now.

Hey Again,

Sure a variation in pricing...

I looked at Oreilly. ~$95 for Mopar, and ~$87 for WIX.

Crazy...

I'm not finding an Amsoil replacement filter for the 3.0, though. Maybe I'm not looking in the right place? (The link earlier goes to a non-OEM replacement filter, I think.)
