Follow up.

After buying a very inexpensive package of M8 half-hex rivnuts, I learned that the generic-sized items are much smaller than those used on the Jeep.

I then checked with OEM rivnut manufacturers, such as Bollhoff, and specialty hardware suppliers, and found nothing that met the need.

It was frustrating because the specialty houses sold items that were similar but not identical, at 20% of the @each price that MOPAR asks.

If you find a correct plug-and-play substitute, please share the info. :)

Hex Drive Nut rivet MOPAR 6511062AA
M8 x 1.25
Hex shape is 13mm flat to flat. (generic hex rivnuts are 11mm flat to flat)
outside diameter of head flange is 21.5+/-mm

I succumbed to the circumstance and bought an eight-pack of the MOPAR 6511062AA suggested above. I have returned to confirm that these do indeed fit properly.

The installation went well.

I'm back on the trail... so to speak.

Thank you.
