Hey All,

Have a 2018 JLUR, steering was wondery and some ghost wobble from day 1. I installed the synergy HD trackbar and the synergy sector shaft brace, both made a significant improvement! No more dead spot in the steering and greatly improved reduction in ghost wobble.

Im still dealing with just a slight bit of wheel wobble when going over bumps while turning. In a straight line its non-existent. My question for the community is what should I upgrade next to really get rid of that last bit of wobble, particularly on highway? Ive read the forums, and lot of folks recommend tie rod and drag link, while others have said replace the SS.

Im currently leaning towards doing a Falcon Nexus 2.1 as a first step before doing the more expensive upgrade to the rest of the components. I still have the original steering box, not sure if moving to the revised steel version would make any difference at this point either as the sector brace really removed any deflection I was feeling.

Thoughts?

If you're still covered by warranty, get the new box. After I had mine swapped, I sold off the synergy sector shaft brace that I never installed.

I'd personally upgrade the tie rod and drag link at the same time as the stabilizer. It'll avoid having a tie rod clamp that doesn't fit an aftermarket replacement.

Also, how many miles are on your Rubi? Is it lifted and on bigger tires? I ask those questions, because you might have some tired ball joints.

Thanks for the thoughtful response. It's a fully stock rubicon beyond the brace and track bar, only about 10k miles.

I may get the new box and install it myself. My local jeep dealer has been a pain to deal with....

It's not just the box, it also requires a software update. That's why I canvased over a dozen dealers, to find a decent one that was willing to make a customer happy.

Been there, considered that! Honestly the Bronco might end up in the garage at some point! Lol!

I just did the drag link and tie rod, it helped, but still no Lexus :). But then again I like driving tractors too.

Agree with above - don’t do the steering stabilizer until you decided to to the drag link. I had already done the stabilizer, so when I did the drag link I had to get the bracket which was like $80. I could have purchased a better stabilizer designed for the aftermarket drag link for what I paid for the bracket and stabilizer.
