I have a new rubicon coming.....ordered 12/30/21. Built and waiting for shipping. I have new aftermarket wheels and plan to put 315's on them. My question is should i take an $850 credit for the 285 KO2's that come on it and try to sell the wheels or just buy the 315's outright and try to sell the rubicon wheels and tires as a set. The $850 credit is what my local tire store offered me for my 285's. The tires and wheels will be brand new....driven straight from dealership to tire store and changed out.

If the $850 allows you to keep wheels and TPMS, I would jump on that. I'd save the wheels for a bit.

Just a thought, but think it's easier to safely move around the wheels when they're wrapped in rubber and would likely be one less trip for the buyer of the wheels. Shame the tire store isn't interested in buying the whole set.

Rubicon or Willys takeoffs (wheels, tires, TPMS) sell for $1200-1500 depending on location and condition. Rubicon or Willys wheels only sell in the $500-700 range. Rubicon and Willys takeoffs are a heck of a lot easier to sell than just rims. I’d put new tires on your new rims and sell the takeoffs.

Keeping this Jeep forever? If you trade every few years keep the wheels to reinstall so the upgrade ones can be put on your next one and just sell the tires.

I did pretty well (this varies by location) selling my full set for $1400. In OPs case, that's $550 for the tires...pretty much a wash if not in his favor.

I paid $1K for wheels+tires Rubicon take-offs, but most being listed in my area now are in the $1.5k-1.2K range.

Those 285 KO2 take-offs are worth way more than $850, IMO. Ordering them from Discount Tire would be over $1.5K (based on December 2021 pricing), and that's just the rubber. If you sell the full set, you could easily get $1.2K+, depending on whether you include the TPMS or not.
