I can't speak to size, but I had Wrangler Dura Tracs on a 2007 JK and they were great. Good in mud and rocks and awesome in snow. Will give them serious consideration when I need to replace my factory tires.

I have M/T ATZ P3 285/70/17's - great tire. However they are an E rated tire and a little heavy - love them though.. The bad news is they are discontinued. The good news is they have been replaced with a lighter version if you do not want an E-rated of which are overkill on a Wrangler anyway (though the thick sidewall is very durable).

2021 Rubicon 4xe
Cooper Discoverer AT3 (entire lineup is good but I ran the XLT and my friend the 4s) - expensive but these have a 60k mile tread
Kenda Klever AT2 or RT (aggressive look and quieter than you'd think, currently have them on) - very good quality, comparatively inexpensive, 50k
Cheapest option is to buy some Rubicon takeoffs - BFG KO2 - everyone loves these tires and I think they are a 50k mile tread
Falken Wildpeak or the newer Rubitrek
Toyo Open Country AT3
Nitto Terra Grappler G2 or Recon Grappler

You probably can't go wrong with any of these tires. I always order or price off eBay and if my local tire shop can't match it beat the price, order of eBay and have them delivered to your home or tire shop of choice for install. Great experience doing it this way.

Just ask @cosine he knows!
Rubicon takeoffs would be your best bet if you don't plan to lift, they are a smaller "almost 33 tire", are lighter weight, last a long time, look pretty good, and should be found on the site for about 1/2 of what a set of comparable tires from a shop would cost.

If you go with a standard 33x12.5 size tire the added width and a bit more height will have contact issues at the inner fender, suspension area under full stuff or full steering lock.

If you can lift it a bit w/ taller Rubicon springs or some 1.5" spacers that allows for the wider 33s, although having proper offset wheels will be your best bet if you go to those tires. The Sahara/Sports have 1.5" narrower axles that causes issues w/ the stock +44 offset wheels.
