Nav question

The NAV unit loves to map out 2 lane roads for me to travel even though there are major interstates close by. I have the highway and toll roads blocked checked under the guidance section. I do remember asking the sales guy to set it up for secondary roads for my drive back home when buying the Jeep.
How can I set it up so it will not direct me to take every two lane road in the road to get to my destination?
