Hi All,

So with Black Friday just around the corner I’m wanting some feedback on some narrow width bumpers. My JLURD came with the plastic bumper since I knew I wanted to upgrade it later I didn’t order the steel bumpers and well might be kicking myself just a bit.

So what I’m looking for is a bumper that can handle a 12k winch and also have a fog light cutout in it, and the fog light cut out can be either be for the factory light or a 3x3 cube light since I do want to go with Baja Designs Squadron SAE amber lights.

Also I want the winch to be mounted between the frame rails to keep mostly protected from the winter road grime of Colorado.

So here is what I have found for bumpers and this is not my final list I’m open to suggestions as well, but I want to keep the bumper as short / close to stock as possible, and don’t have a real need for a bull / grill bar since I front facing camera and also wanting to run the Baja Designs LP6’s.

Bumpers

  • Rebel Off Road Summit Series – fits the build its 10 inches of depth but more on the pricy side
  • LOD Signature series shorty – Fits the build buts its 13 inches of depth.
  • Mopar Rubicon Steel Bumper – OEM finish and depth but going to be the expensive to add
  • Rugged Ridge Arcus front - again fits the build, depth unknown but the stamped steel concerns me.
  • Metalcloak frame built – Shortest bumper out of them all at 7.5 inches without the bull bar and fits the build.
  • Motobilt Cursher – Now this one does not have fog lights cutout but since it has a depth of 10 inches I feel with some modification it could be added to the bumper between the fairlead and the d-ring mounts
Thanks for any feedback.

Well I’ll give you feedback on the Lod. It’s super well built.....but it does stick out to accommodate the factory fog lights. If I had to do it over I’d either get rid of the fogs, or move the winch up to keep it shorter. I may sell my lod and get something lighter and shorter.
