I am hardwiring my MXT 275 to my 21 Rubicon through the Aux switches. I plug the radio into the wiring, and turn it on and it doesn’t work. Check all connections. Plug radio into accessory plug and it works. Check hard wire with multimeter and I have 13v at the radio. Check accessory wire at the radio I have 13v. Why doesn’t the r radio work plugged into the hardwire? I’m using Aux 3 making sure that the switch is on. I’m lost at what to do.

Are you verifying 13V from the aux switch using the same ground as you've selected for the radio?

I took the reading at the connector on the wires that are where you would plug the wire into the radio. One post in each hole of the connector one post in the hot wire side and one in the ground side. Should I be doing something different? I am no whiz at this for sure. I appreciate your help. Jim

If you are getting a voltage reading at the connection when the wires are hooked up, then theres no reason the radio should not work.
Double check that the radio is connected to that plug properly and solid. Also the MXT275 takes a bit of holding the power button down to turn on, so hold it down for a few seconds just to make sure. A tap of the power button isn't enough

Thank you everyone for your help. It appeared to be that the connector on the hot wire side at the radio wasn’t making a good contact with the radio. It read fine on the meter but wasn’t connecting well when plugged in. I cut off the connectors and direct wired it and it is now working. Thanks everyone.
