Installed it two weeks ago. Also added an Under the Sun grill insert.

Wondering how close the color is to the steel bumper? They call it matte black but it kind of looks shiney in pictures...

Its a little shinier, but not a huge difference in color to me.

That's what I just got so I was wondering the same thing. Surprised I haven't seen one yet.

I actually got a dealer to order a Satin Black Grill for their stock, so I could bring it out to my JL to see what I thought of the color of it, next to my JL's black bumper / black trim. I have a Bright White, JL.

Long story short, the parts guy, myself and a few other's at the dealership thought the grill was too black... a shiny black, that did not go well ... blend in well with my JL's bumper and trim, rear view mirrors and such. On my JL the grill kinda stood out ... looked out of place.

Some day I may go with a black grill but I will buy the Satin Black Grill, offering and have a body shop paint it to match as close a possible to the trim / bumper on my JL. I will keep the 3 moldings around the grill the same body color as my JL.

Now, if someone installed this grill, kept the body color moldings, and then pulled things together with other shiny black aftermarket additions then to me the grill would look just fine.

No. I loosened the bumper bolts and moved it forward on the bolts about 3/4”, which was enough to allow the factory grille to pop out and the new one to slide in.

I am looking to buy a second grill to have hydro dipped carbon fiber. I own a Sahara JL. eBay has brand new OEM grills for $275 shipped. I think they are for Sport models. Will it fit my vehicle? I prefer it because, no need for inserts.

Love the hood protector. I have tried to order one that looks exactly like that twice but they keep sending me the wrong one. Is it an AVS and if so, can you tell me the part number?
