Montaska's 2021 Wrangler Rubicon JLU Build

Jeep Wrangler JL Montaska's '21 Rubicon Build IW1pXL

TLDR Version:
2021 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Unlimited 2.0T
2.5" AEV DualSport RT Lift w/ Bilstein 5100 Shocks
35" Nokian Outpost nAT tires
Frontrunner Slimline II Roof Rack
iKamper Skycamp 3.0 Mini
Starlink Mini Mounted

The Build
Hi all, I wanted to actually do some things to the Rubicon before making a build thread. I don't want to go too crazy and mainly focus on functional upgrades to get me where I want to go and be able to relax once I'm there.

If I remember correctly, the Rubicon came with 33" BF Goodrich Mud-Terrain T/A tires that had plenty of tread. They seemed to work well but I wanted to upgrade to 35" tires, and since I live in Alaska where it's snowy much of the year, I wanted a tire that would perform well in the winter. I ended up going with 35" Nokian Outpost nAT's. They've performed exceptionally well on dry pavement at highway speeds, ice, and deep snow. They fit on the stock Rubicon wheel and I had plenty of clearance at the stock lift height.

Although I didn't have any issues with the 35" tires on the stock suspension, I wanted a little extra height for articulation and clearance. I ended up going with the AEV 2.5" DualSport RT lift.

The next goal was to get the Rubicon setup for camping. I have the deepsleep Solo mat that's great quality and works well, I just didn't want to sleep in the back of my Jeep. After a lot of research and saving my overtime money, I decided to go with the Front Runner Extreme Slimline II rack and the iKamper Skycamp 3.0 Mini.

I threw on some Maxtrax via a Frontrunner Maxtrax mount. I also wanted to permanently mount my Starlink Mini to have comms anywhere I am. I went with the Revolink mount but I wasn't really impressed. The mounting holes didn't provide many options so I had to drill my own. The metal is pretty flimsy which I guess worked out alright since it made the drilling easy. I wouldn't recommend it, but it works.

And then, I went down Belanger Pass (Alaska) with some friends to test it all out.

A friend of mine upgraded to a 270* awning and he gave me his old awning - score!

I'm also working on my camp kitchen setup and added a Rough Country rear table:
