Any use or familiar with the Metalcloak/ARS interior storage rack? I have been looking for a place to install onboard air and this has a nice place to do so. Possible downside is not sure how solid it is, only mounts at roof bolt and not to roll bar. I would also have to come up with a place for chuck and switch.

I don't have this one but we put in an el cheapo version for a while. It was surprisingly sturdy but you have to completely disassemble it to take the top off so we eventually took it out and never put it back in. If you go that route I'd suggest using some kind of plug for power and hoses.

I have the Texas Metal Works shelving system and I think you could mount the compressor upside down on the upper shelf. I do take the lower shelf in and out, but the upper remains as it is out of the way.

They are not cheap, but they are rock solid and do not move or give in any way.

Uhh.... if you mount it upside down, won't all the air leak out????

I like the looks of that. 6 bolts to remove the center. High enough to sleep under.

I have this ARS and a cheaper amazon one. This one obviously mounts to the bolts that keep the hardtop on so doesn't work well if you plan on removing hardtop and replacing from time to time. But stability wise, it works perfectly and with no noise.

The twin does mount up on top but with me being 5' 7" and was on 40's, hard to reach the power button. I should look into relocating the switch. As far as connecting it to a hose system, I have the manifold that I just mounted all the way rearward to be easily accessible.

Apologies for the bad quality pics, I'd take new ones but I reverted back to my cheaper rack thinking I wanted to remove the hardtop. But after a few days in the dirt, may go back to this rack.

I thought about installing my onboard air on my cargo shelf, but the problem is if you ever want to take the shelf out then you'll have to figure out how to disconnect your compressor air hoses and electrical with it. And then you won't have onboard air until you put the shelf back in.

Not a problem if you never think you'll take the shelf out, but personally I take my shelf out at least once a month to fit large items in the back.

This is absolutely true. I also have the M.O.R.E mounting kit that I'm waiting to install, just brainstorming where to mount the power switch and manifold for easy access.
