Thought some of you might have some helpful mechanical know-how or tricks learned along the way. Like tools or gadgets used to ease life.
For instance, I’ve heard how difficult times with spring swaps have hindered some. Been there, on the ground, cursing.
Found it much easier to remove coil springs by using spring compressors while the jack has compressed the springs. Then lower the axle and they just fall out. Reverse the process by using the tools to shrink the new springs, raise the axle back up, and remove the spring compressors.
Seriously, changed out my JLU springs in about 20 minutes after disconnecting sway bar links and shocks. No air tools. Total of 2 hours, minus putting tools away.
