I've had mine in 4wd at 65 in dry powdery snow on a freeway.

OP got an earful from jeepers reminding him what's safe. the answer is definitely as fast as you'll need. 4h was comfortably moving along at 75mph for me in rain.
It's not only what's safe. What's safe is different in every individual situation. But it's also what's smart...4wd does absolutely nothing for you at those higher speeds so all you're doing is putting more wear on your drivetrain and using more gas. So yeah, if it makes you happy, go for it. But generally when people ask for advice they are looking for the BEST advice, whether or not they actually plan to follow that advice.

Yeah, when "on snow" means this...

My CTS would be better than my Wrangler or Tahoe in this kind of "snow". These SUVs aren't created with this in mind.

No when you see members on this site talk about "good in snow", we mean this...

Places where your 305-width all-season-tire-equipped X5 couldn't make it 100ft.

OP asked this question four years ago in Jan of 2019, and was last seen on these forums on Jan 28 of 2019.

As someone who drives Hwy 50 all the time, I'm thinking he drove it off the edge over by Twin Bridges and was never heard from again. ?

Dark Humor? MEEEEE??
