It's not only what's safe. What's safe is different in every individual situation. But it's also what's smart...4wd does absolutely nothing for you at those higher speeds so all you're doing is putting more wear on your drivetrain and using more gas. So yeah, if it makes you happy, go for it. But generally when people ask for advice they are looking for the BEST advice, whether or not they actually plan to follow that advice.OP got an earful from jeepers reminding him what's safe. the answer is definitely as fast as you'll need. 4h was comfortably moving along at 75mph for me in rain.
