Hello, I am wondering if anyone knows if you can install a remote starter to a 2021 Wrangler Rubicon with a manual transmission.

Get the 8 speed auto - it’s better in every way. And I was dead set on the 6-speed manual. Got tired of looking for one and got the ZF 8spd. Best trans out there.

The Wrangler is offered with a terrible manual, and an exceptional automatic.

And besides like others have said there is no safe way to do that. You park a manual in first or reverse gear.

My mom has the 2.0 Auto and I, the 3.6L manual. While I feel the 2.0 Auto is a far superior platform. I would still pick the manual every time, I just love grabbing a handful of stick every time… Plus I find driving her Jeep a bit odd to drive, always looking for the clutch or turn it off with it still in reverse.

But yes, not sure I would install auto start in manual when you’re supposed to leave it in gear.

My first response was NO! you can't use a remote start in a vehicle with a manual transmission so I did some internet surfing to prove my point.

But I came across this while doing that; https://www.compustar.com/blog/can-you-remote-start-a-manual-transmission-stick-shift-vehicle/ so it looks like it may be quite possible.

I always thought you wouldn't be able to find a shop willing to install a remote start in a manual auto but I may have been wrong.

Check with your area install shops for remote starts and see what they have to say.

Except that even that doesn't address the problem of the vehicle rolling. Sure the e-brake may be up enough to trigger whatever microswitch senses that its up.

And that may be great for a new vehicle. But how many of us have driven MT cars with marginal e-brakes that we wouldn't trust without the car also being in gear? I can say that I definitely have.

The parking brake are the little drums on the back rotors or am I confusing that?

I don't know on this truck. Possibly. Probably.

Some vehicles its a mechanical engagement of the existing brake pads. Some its a drum inside the rotor. Some vehicles its on the front brakes, though not many.

Either way, its irrelevant how its done. The parking brake is the thing you pull up between the seats. Ha.
