I have a Magnaflow Street series axleback muffler and a Magnaflow 6" long resonator in the mid-section. Due to a long trial and error process of testing various other resonators in the midpiping before settling on the 6" one, I wanted to replace all the stock mid-piping with new mandrel-bent constant diameter tubing to help clean up the final setup, eliminating all the stock pinching and inconsistencies.

Should I go with 2.5" or 3"? Ive noticed catback systems out there come in both sizes depending on brand. And ive measured various sections of my stock mid pipe, some where its 2.75" and others where it drops down to ~2.25".

While I want to maximize flow, I also want to ensure I don't sacrifice the deep exhaust note I currently have.

2.5" is what you'll want. No reason to go 3.0" at these power levels, nor risk increasing boominess/drone/resonance.

aFe makes a nice mid-pipe for the JL that I added to our Wrangler as well, along with a Magnaflow axle-back.

Just a little background, I've been modifying/building/racing turbocharged sports cars for 2½ decades and have experimented with just about any exhaust combination possible on booster applications (and plenty of NA ones as well).
