There's no Malls where I live. I'm hoping a pic in Walmart parking lot will do.

Same, mostly mom and pop strip malls near me.

The one mall that is about 10 miles from my house is largely vacated except a few surrounding fast food places and a grocery store. It's creepy to drive around there at night. The access road and the road that circles the mall are so poorly maintained, they make for a "nice" test of your vehicles suspension and tires...not that I've tried it

Bartlett, IL... You're out west of Schaumburg! Yeah you're definitely on the edge of where it becomes rural, west of Chicago.

Only a little bit West of you it's just straight corn fields and Northern Rednecks!

There used to be a mall relatively close by, most of it was vacant, it had about 6 stores in it. One night I drove through the parking lot after hours, it looked like Zombieland! I've never went back!

I lived out that way for 16 years before I had to sell my place in 2021. Mostly decent folks in the sticks (far better than the mostly idiotic people that live around here lol)

Only downside to living so far from Chicago was whenever I had to travel by air. It's over 1 1/2 hrs to either major airport (unless you drive like a maniac, even then at bets 1hr if there's no traffic)...made for some fun "nearly" missed flights over the years

In an attempt to revive this thread (not really, I just had a thought earlier today and I figured I'd share it).

Texas is kind of cool in that it has a really easy way to identify Mall crawlers...

It doesn't matter how big their lift is, or how many thousands of pounds their winch pulls, or whether they're running 40s or not, if they don't have one of these stickers on their window, GLORIFIED MALL CRAWLER!!!

So there’s definitely not anywhere that you can go without one of those stickers. And I'm sure that there's never been anyone who would buy that sticker just for the clout. That would be as ridiculous as someone who buys a winch and never had a use for it.....

College station, do you have a OHV sticker?

I'd be apt to say the vast majority of lifted Mall crawlers don't actually know what an OHV sticker is. In fact I'd be apt to say that the majority of people who bother learning what one is, are people who have every intention to off-road whether they do or don't.

I have a 2022 2023 2024 OHV sticker, realistically speaking I've only used the 2024 OHV sticker. Though I've had every intention to use the first two years, I just never got around to it.

I drive for living, and I see hundreds if not thousands of Wranglers every single week, yet I only see one or two OHV stickers every single week.

Seems like a pretty reliable way to identify individuals who off-road their vehicles in Texas!

Depending which beach you drive on, I think one of them in Texas is considered part of a road or highway, so in that one you'd be legal but in places like Bolivar Peninsula, you definitely need a OHV sticker. I wouldn't risk it, just cuz the Game Warden hasn't caught you yet isn't worth the fine in my opinion.

I don't know about those other roads in the photos. If they are designated city or state or county roads or highways, no matter how rural or off-road looking they are, they're not OHV. However if that's private land that hasn't received a Parks and wildlife grant, then that's a different story.

I find getting one just in case is worth the $16. Wouldn't want to find myself in the wrong place and the game wardens giving me a $500 fine, rather just spend the $16 and be done with it.
