On long and/or multi-day trips I sometimes want to save the battery till a certain point in the trip. Could be for the trail, or to have those extra miles available after I've passed my last gas station. Because it defaults to Hybrid every time you start the jeep, you have to remember after every stop to press the button. Forget once and you could lose the whole charge within minutes. I couldn't find any software solutions so I made a mechanical one. Maybe it will inspire someone else to come up with something better.

Nice example of mechanical engineering.

However, there are a few electronic options. The Tazer can "latch" the mode buttons. And, supposedly the new recall update will also cause the mode buttons to "latch" into the last used mode.

I hope that is true. I would mutch prefer a software solution. I was told that would never happen and I couldn't find that as a Tazer option.

We got ours last week, so I'm assuming it has the update. I will check to see where it is set as I left it in e save mode when I turned it off last night

Thanks. Z auto says they have not made that feature yet but it is in progress. They did have the max regen option for a while before Jeep updated but that is different.

Oh, that's what I was thinking of then.
