I did the math. I would have spent $ to get close to what I wanted by upgrading the Sahara.

And, I am told the Rubicon will hold its value

This was calculated stupidity with no regrets.

It is a Jeep, so it will hold its value well. But, If we are comparing the JL's...the Sport S I believe has the highest residual Value, and the Rubicon has the lowest. So you were told right, kinda. The Rubicon will hold its value...just not as well as the Sahara you traded for it.

That all depends on where you live & the supply/demand in that area. Some will trade higher for a Sahara due to less supply and higher demand. On the other hand, Rubicons in my area are much lower in supply but higher demand. Dealer lots are filled with Sahara's JK and JLs. Very few Rubicons JKs and almost even fewer JLs and they both move quickly. And it all depends on what you paid for your Jeep upfront and what you put into it to make yourself happy.

Def a planned impulse buy and on top of that our first foray into Jeepdom. If the numbers work out I will do it but I can't go crazy stupid, just a little stupid. Side note she loves what she has but I know she would really love a black on black Rubi.

If you're in Texas Demontrond in Conroe did have the blue! We lucked out and showed up with a freshly unloaded/unclaimed Punk'n and got ours! But they have a good selection as well!

The ONLY thing I hate about black... you can see the scratches real easy. Took it through the care wash about 3 times and already you can see them. Hand wash or touch less only from now on. Wish I could afford the ceramic coating, might apply it myself but it is a laborious process.

Does anyone have a great jeep dealership in southern CAL? Looking for a high volume one that usually has a lot of JL 4 doors in stock. I have searched all over southern CAL and not found any Mojito in stock. Thank you in advance. Looks as though JEEP is not offering any great discounts on JK models like RAM is doing for their 2018 1500 pickups. with the design changes in the 2019 models.
