So i went out to check the diff fluid levels on my 2024 jlu willys. Both were low- about 1/2" inch below fill hole. It took 1/2 quart to fill both to the bottom of the fill hole. The fill plugs have magnets on them and there was some grey paste on the magnets. pretty normal i suppose for a new jeep. 2100 miles on it but have done quite a bit of 4x4 use in the 5 months i have owned it.
for the life of me i could not find a definite answer on what the fluid levels should be- one guy in a video says till it runs out- [Banned Site] guy. Usually most say to fill till it oozes out then plug. I let it run till it stopped dripping out. owners manual says 1/8" from the bottom of the fill hole. kinda hard to measure that.
used thread sealant past sparingly and torqued to 25 ft lbs. I know that the plugs moved pretty easily removing them.
any ideas on what jeep says or dana says as far as fluid levels? Oh, i have the rear locker.....
