OK, so, looking at MT Classic 3s and they specifically say they require bulge acorn lugnuts, and of course I'm looking to swap them onto my JL.
- Will my OEM lugnuts work on the MTs? I haven't seen if they're bulge seat or not.
- If I want to buy a new set do I just grab any ol' JL set?
- Anybody got any source for colored ones? Would dig to get some in green to match my Mojito.

Thanks

Just ask @cosine he knows!
You'll have to see how big the bore is for the lug nuts, most aftermarket wheel lug nut bores are quite a bit narrower than the OEM wheels. The OEM lug nuts are about 30mm at that washer area and require a 22mm socket which is typically 34mm OD.
My ATX wheel bores are about 31mm and require narrower lug nuts. My ProComp spare has even smaller bores.
Here's a thread I posted on that

Interesting that your procomps have such small bores considering procomp make wheels like the 69 that is so similar to the Classic IIIs i am looking at. Now, the Thompsons specifically calling for the 60-degree acorn with a bulge seat, I would hope means their bores are big enough, but I guess I won't know until I try them out.

UPDATE just adding info for posterity - I had to go with splined lugs, but the seat on the splines is not specifically a bulge seat, and i'm not sure a bulge will fit in the MT bores anyhow. It was crazy, I called MT themselves and they had no idea how big the bores in the wheels were, so I just had to trust the Quadratec guys that the splined ones would fit.

As long as they are conical seating it shouldn't matter.

Any spline lug kit from amazon or ebay should do the trick.

Can you post a link or image of the specific lug set you ordered from quadratec? I'm going this right now and everyone has a different answer :)

Actually, I didn't order from the website or catalog, I just ended up calling them on the phone, telling them which wheels, and trusting them to pick a set for me.

This sucks seems multiple guys are having this issue with the Classic III for MT. Those are the wheels I want on my JL. Gonna have to look into this some more now. Do you have an update on this?

The splined lugs from QT ended up working out just fine. I don't have my Jeep anymore but am *this close* to buying another because I miss it, and I would likely buy the same wheels over again.

I really want the MT classic III and was about to pull the trigger this weekend but my daughters car needs a new headlight and all four tires. So there goes six months of saving up FML.
