Well the axles for the JL are changing, not sure if its been posted yet but what axles will the 2018 model have? Also will the lug pattern remain the same at 5x5?

Axles are some new, unknown model from Dana. Larger overall and a bit beefier than the axles used in the JK.

JK bolt pattern is 5x5, and that's expected to carry over.

So far everything seems to point to there only being one front axle used in the JL/JT though, as opposed to the D30 and D44 front axles used in the JK.

The new front axle also appears to feature a center-axle-disconnect (CAD), similar to what's used on some of the modern Ram solid front axles as well as the YJ Wrangler and older XJs.

Rear disc brakes, on the JT at least, are much larger than those currently used on the JK.

The primary reason for a center axle disconnect is to improve fuel efficiency. By disconnecting one side of the axle you effectively disengage the front driveline (ie: front driveshaft doesn't spin), which reduces parasitic drag.

Great info here, I hope the larger axles come standard. $2500 extra doesnt sound so bad with larger axles, brakes, better sound, rear camera, better gas mileage, etc coming standard. I am ready for this release.

The $2500 increase ; how much it hurts depends on what's included in the "Base". Federally Mandated Safety features, such as Back Up Camera, Side Air Bags will be "Standard". Big Question ,things we now have to add as "Options" , such as 3:73 axle ratios, Air Conditioning, Connectivity , will they be "standard", if not, how much will they add to the $2500 already tacked on.
Larger diameter tires, as stock,31" ? No Carpet, mats or Linex instead ?
Once I know what the "Base" actually includes, can happily start the CountDown
