I have a 2018 JLU MOAB. And I have attempted to google Loose vents and only find the JK models having the issues and how to fix it. Well I have the JL and can't seem to find a way to fix them. They are usually fine if it's cold outside. But once the plastic starts to warm up they become loose again. And once the speed of the air is anywhere from half way to full blast. The vent will close on it's own. Has anyone else had this issue and could refer me a fix?

I know this thread is three years old but I have/had the same issue and the only solutions I could find involved taking the entire dash apart. Here is my low cost, low effort solution:
I went to a craft store and bought black pipe cleaners. I threaded the pipe cleaner around one end of the vent's diverter and threaded it back through again two more times- pulling it taut and adding a single twist each time. Then I clipped the ends and tucked them in with a jeweler's screwdriver. See the attached photos for a bit more clarity on the process. Works great, so far, and it took me about 20 minutes to do four of them.
