I ordered my Jeep on 5/24, as of today, almost 2 weeks later, it has yet to move to “scheduled” on the Jeep online tracker. Is this common? Or is the tracker unreliable? My last two Jeeps (2018, 2021) were both about 3 weeks from order to delivery so this seems a lot slower. Or are my expectations off?

Anvil Willy’s, V6/8AT, hardtop, convenience, tech. Nothing too exotic, no?

🤔 Not sure but I ordered mine 5/18 and was @ D1 in 2 weeks. I have a build date of 6/10 so I’m guessing mid July I should be picking it up. My dealership has been good at updating me so I don’t waste time on the Jeep tracker. Congrats on your new baby! This is my ”1st Jeep” so I am over the moon w/ joy to pick it up!

Yea, your expectations are off. Things are slower in general and there are certain builds/jeeps that take even longer for reasons unknown…

…and there are some that seem to move faster…

You’ll get it, you just have to be patient.

I guess I’m surprised, sales are slowing, wonder why the process moves slower now than in 2018 (hype of new model) and 2021 (crazy sales, everything flying off of shelves, supply chain, Covid, etc).

Also didn’t know if someone had any insight as to why my configuration might take longer, or what configurations that take longer than others.

It’s not a big deal, I’m just trying to understand. My current Jeep is supposed to go back July 8th, I’m trying to decide if I should extend it or just let it go and drive my other car until it gets here. Either is an option.

Sounds like a first world problem. If it’s going to cost more to extend your lease (I know nothing about leases) and you have another car, seems the answer is clear. But folks who perpetually lease think differently than me. You can always have jeepcares create a case for your extended wait. I finally decided to get them involved after waiting 7 months.

It’s not a problem. It’s a question.

Ive never extended a lease but I believe I can just call up Jeep and ask that I keep the vehicle and continue to make the same (or maybe slightly higher) payment for up to 6 more months. Which I planned on making a new Jeep lease payment anyways so it’s more or less one for one.

The real issue for me is that my other car is a two seat convertible, which obviously doesn’t work for carting around my two kids (my wife also has an SUV but sometimes it works out that I need to take both kids, and we can’t swap cars since she doesn’t drive stick). Also I don’t want to drive the sports car in winter. So for a gap month, maybe two, NBD, but for longer than that it might be worth investigating an interim solution.

I’m not there yet, just trying to get a feel for things. It hasn’t quite been 2 weeks yet, but like I said it’s different from my other two orders. Or maybe it isn’t and the system just isn’t reliable. I don’t know.

Maybe getting into the tail end of the 2024 production has the factory "slowing" things down a bit.

Then again, the last few years have been weird on when they've been starting and stopping orders for each model year.

Oh grasshopper. Go in the manual transmission thread and you’ll feel better.
Unless he sees my posts…
I was order entry to dealership in 27 days or something. Just goes to show, there’s no rhyme or reason.
I will say my dealer was definitely more accurate than the tracker…

My first Jeep, I placed my order on 8/1/2018, drove it home from my dealer on 8/22/2018.

Second one, I placed my order 6/4/2021, it hit the dealer on 7/7/2021, and was in my driveway (shipped to me) 7/14/2021.

So that’s kinda my perspective. Maybe those were aberrations, but I figured 4-6 weeks. Maybe when it gets scheduled it will move fast, I dunno.

For sure.
My other three Jeeps were closer to 8 weeks…

I ordered my Willys on March 5th (three months ago today) and it has not moved. The only thing I have is a VIN assigned.

Order went in 4/27 and delivery date if things go right is 6/13. My original delivery date was 7/2. So things moved quickly and changed quickly.
