True enough. But rock crawling doesn’t usually involve being strapped to a tree unless you need it to pull you out.I guess nobody knows? I would assume it can. Rock crawling surely involves high traction situations.
I did this two days ago.winch + Spare tire ???
Not really sure why any of us offering sound safe advice would be considered “pansies”.People (myself included) run lockers on slick rock in Moab all the time. Similar levels of traction as pavement, and in Moab, you may also be turning, climbing ledges, etc…. Don’t let all these pansies scare you, get it done.
I tried to emphasize I know what I’m doing and the only unknown is the jeep drivetrain.takes one simple mistake to ruin life for ever…
The previous vehicle I used for pulling stumps was an 8.1L 2500 suburban. It will probably pull it without lockers. The 4XE is a heavy bitch.
Film it either way.

It’s akin to a mountain climber asking about certain gear and he gets a bunch of responses about the risks of mountain climbing.
You commented about safety, long before I ever joined the party. My reference to pansies were people that were afraid of breaking their jeeps, nothing to do with safety at all. I figured he was a big enough boy to figure the safety part out for himself. My post was directed at 1996cc…
Well I was planning on using an frayed steel cable and opening the tailgate and having 5 children sit in the cargo area.As typical, people are putting WAY too much thought into this.
I mean, "ruin life forever".......seriously? So pulling on a stump with lockers on is going to do this? Maybe it will just explode and kill a bus full of nuns that is driving by while you are at it.
