I've done a search and found some mentions of construction vehicle type lighting, but I am wondering if anyone has added some strobe amber lights to their vehicles.

I'm running a soft top, and if you can tell from my profile picture I am pretty much stock. I'd like to keep a low profile since I don't need to use the lights all the time, only when I pull off the side of the road as needed.

I'd really like to keep the look clean so you don't notice the lights unless they are on. Unfortunately, I am in PA and our PA vehicle code says the lights can't be inside the vehicle. I was actually stopped by an over-zealous trooper in my company truck when I had it and the company had installed visor and back window light bars on the inside of the cab.

Just wondering if anyone out there has done anything like this. I don't have the auxiliary switches either, so I may want to add that as part of this.

Basically, I don't want the Jeep to look like a construction vehicle.

Any thoughts are appreciated.

Thanks for the idea, but unfortunately construction vehicle lights in PA have to be amber.

I also don't have LED tail lights or fender lights, so I don't know if it would be as effective.

Maybe you can replace the fogs with amber lights. you can then use the custom light show on the TAZER

I may be of some help.
I'm an emergency Vehicle Tech, and build Construction vehicles, and police cars everyday.

If you need externally mounted lighting, look at Feniex Industries. www.feniex.com
The make reasonably priced stick lights that come in various lenths.

I would say something like this: https://feniex.com/lightsticks/Fusion-S_400_Lightstick on the front bumper between the tow hooks and another under the rear bumper where the hitch would be. If thats not available, Feniex makes lots of other good products that will fit different places.

they can be run off of a single switch.

That is definitely interesting. I haven't seen something like that before.
I think, if you don't want to go the hitch-mounted route, you can get a CB antenna mount bracket that installs behind the spare tire on the tailgate. Then you can get the female quick disconnect base for those lighted whips that will go into the CB antenna hole. The nice thing about that one is that the mount will sit up higher so you could probably get away with a 3ft whip and the light would be high enough to clear the top of the Jeep. Then just grab the flashing amber light unit and maybe the lens kit to make it look like a proper warning strobe and you're set! It's not the cheapest route, but you know you're getting stuff that was really designed for what you need.

Oh, and since the Jeep has an always-on 12v outlet in the cargo area, you can wire it up to just plug into there when you need it.

Thanks for the info, very helpful.

Anyone out there use their Jeeps in the construction world and have some lights discreetly placed? Photos and videos are helpful too.

Thanks all for the responses.

It’s kind of ironic since Quadratec is actually in Pennsylvania. I really wish I could use that light bar though.
