Looking to add an LED light bar to my front bumper.

Is there any specific reasons people choose pods over bars? Is it just a preference?

You can angle the pods, less stray glares, light bars not so much.

Other than that, I guess pods(round) look more retro and bars look modern. Just personal preference.

Rigid SS are ideal for bumper - amazing pattern. But I get that they don't hit the retro look.

Hard to see in this picture, but, I've got a light bar and two sets of pods on the front...also, a set of rigid pods on the back bumper. I'm amazed that the pod sets (individually) offer about the same amount of light as the bar. I guess my answer is, both are really good.

Why not do both. Pods are spot and bar ia a flood

I did both. I personally think PODs should be up top using a SPOT pattern while light bars should be lower to eliminate glare and get more Flood pattern.

I think thats probably made the most sense to me. Didnt think about horizontal angle.

As for the "retro look," Im typically an old school kinda guy but I like straight lines lol So the retro look would hardly appeal to me. Maybe if I had an older Jeep id go for it.

Wow that's one sweet looking Jeep, very clean and elegant!
Thanks! Not always that way. Just installed MetalCloak rear diff plate and there is plenty of Sedona red dirt underneath. Big fan of the ceramic - makes cleanup super easy and with a black jeep, almost mandatory.

I got the T-Rex grille insert with the 2” led lights in each of the slots as my first lighting upgrade. I like pods and round lights for the retro look but also wanted the recessed sleek look that’s modern.

Notice any engine cooling issues with the placement?

Not at all. Temp hasn’t come up any, whether I’m on the highway or on a trail. And the inner grille is metal instead of plastic so I’m really happy to know I won’t have that busted from a thrown rock on the highway one day.

What kind of front bumper do you currently have? Is it stock?

I personally think that is a big deciding factor, some bumpers look better with CUBEs/Revolvers and some with Light bars.
