Just wondering if someone could offer advice.. lease is up on 2020 Sahara, SOT, cold weather, safety groups. I am way over miles by about 18,000 which is where the problem comes in. RV is 35000, highest online buyout quote about 32,000. I was planning on buying it out and was not worrying about miles, but things changed! Do you think I should go through trouble of buying it out myself and trying to sell it , would I get much more?? Thanks for any advice.

Damn, how far was the mall that you were commuting to every day?! ? Holy crap…

Haha, I’m just kidding… ? But wow, that is a lot of miles over on the lease. Me personally, I think it depends on what you are looking to get into and how. Will you be buying a new vehicle, getting into another lease, spying something used in the future…? The “next step” is a factor here.

You better check the lease terms. For that many miles over you may be required to pay up big time! My in laws had a low mileage lease and would have to pay $0.35/mile over the limit.

Are you trading in for something else? I would trade it, or buy it. I think your penalties going over the mileage will cost more, than you would loose selling it to carmax. I think you can negotiate buying it from your lease for 32,000 if you can show them that is the market value. You would have to adjust the market value for the original lease mileage though.

You will get a feel for what people are willing to pay, and if you get a solid commitment to buy, then just buy out the lease and sell it.

Rather than buying and don't make out any better, than paying the overage penalty.

Dealers may overlook the overage on lease mileage, only if you were to lease another one. It still may be cheaper in the end to lease another Jeep.

Buy it then trad it in on your new purchase.

. . . realizing each day–
What does the lease say regarding the overage cost? Talk to your salesperson, what are they offering if you lease or buy?

Make a deal with them, they want to keep you as a customer—
