Wondering if anyone else experience an issue fitting the rear bracket through the rear glass window? I've got a JLU 4-door and the power hoist-a-top. I have reviewed several YouTube videos and understand that the bracket needs to be fed up from under the open window, between the glass and the rear of the hard top, but the bracket does not "reach" down and around the gasket completely. When I do get it around the gasket and the lip of the hardtop, the bracket arm does not sit straight up to allow connection with the cross bar. It seems as though the bracket is not shaped to fit correctly and I was hoping that others may have experienced this and might offer a solution? I reached out to Lange, but have not received a reply yet.
Thanks!

I think a pic of what you’re describing would help others help you

I’m having this issue currently, just got my hoist and am trying to finish the install. When I’m looking at it, our top has the added liner and it looks like the bracket is formed to a tight tolerance for a top without a liner. I’ve left a message with the manufacturer and am waiting for a call back.

Can't tell if you have the factory headliner or not, but if you do and maybe it is the same with others, you can pull it out a little if you have to and slide the bracket underneath it. The bracket fits on mine without having to pull it out, but I have pulled it out to run the wires for the lift gate light I installed. It should move enough without pulling the velcro loose.

Yes our liner is the factory option. I went out to look at it and found an area to pull the edge away off to the side.
The first time I looked at it, it seemed like it was fabric adhered to the top. Looking closer at it; it seems to possibly be fabric covered abs and has great fit and finish to the rest of the top. Bracket fits perfectly. Originally I was worried I would tear away adhesive and ruin that area.

This is an issue for many people. You can purchase Topsy Products fix for this and you won’t have to worry about getting the bracket it or cracking the back glass. It’s an adapter bar specifically for that hoist. The bracket and straps kit is $96. Much easier to attach the top once their brackets are installed and offers two points of contact instead of one in the back.

It’s stuck to the roof with velcro
